What to Plan on:
There are a few small film festivals/series coming up soon: FFFest at Quad Cinema from Oct. 25-27, Tromathon of Horror at Film Noir Cinema from Oct. 15-22, and the Brooklyn Horror Film Festival from Oct. 17-24. Also Nitehawk Williamsburg is showing one of my favorite Vincent Price movies, Witchfinder General (aka The Conqueror Worm) in 35mm. It was co-produced by Roger Corman’s American International Pictures (the man loved Vincent Price) but it feels more like if Hammer studios got it’s hand on an Italian horror script. It’s a truly weird, idiosyncratic british horror movie that feels right at home with movies like The Wicker Man and The Devils. Which is the highest praise I can give.
